Ashley Krause and Kathleen Furlani claimed the Massachusetts and Connecticut State Snowshoe Championships, respectively. Pittsfield, Massachusetts played host to the Curly’s Massachusetts and Connecticut State Snowshoe Championships. Krause finished the race in 40:01, 27 seconds ahead of runner up Courtney Tedeschi of New York (41:28). Kelsey Allen was the 3rd female finisher, crossing the line in 41:32. Furlani was the first female from Connecticut, securing her State Championship in 52:21.
On the men’s side, it was Tim Van Orden of Vermont finishing first overall in 32:31, followed closely by Colorado’s Postyn Smith 10 seconds later. Ross Krause was the top male finisher from Massachusetts, securing the state championship position in 34:11. Patrick Fernald laid claim to the Connecticut State Championship, finishing in 39:39 and 9th place overall.
