Smugglers’ Notch Nordic Center in Jeffersonville, VT played host to the 11th Annual Northern Vermont Snowshoe Challenge 8k.  The Snowshoe Challenge was the Vermont State Snowshoe Championships for 2012.

David LePorhd of Montreal, Canada finished first overall with a course record time of 38:40.  A little over 40 seconds later was Jeremy Drowne of West Chazy, NY, finishing in 39:22.  Eric Kowalik, also of New York, was third overall with a time of 43:45.  Eddie Habeck was the top finisher from Vermont, making him the 2012 State Champion with a 45:02.

On the women’s side, it was Cathy Pedtke of Saranac Lake, NY in first, crossing the line in 53:59.  Anthea Schmid was the Vermont State Champion with her 2nd place finishing time of 57:30.  Lea Anthony finished third in 1:05:40.
