…Or was it?  North Carolina attempted to jump in the USSSA ring, but mother nature did not cooperate.  That’s right, the North Carolina State Snowshoe Championships were contested in running shoes.

The lack of snow made it difficult to have a traditional snowshoe race, so they did what they could and made it a good old fashioned running race… same situation happened in Maine and Wisconsin, unfortunately.

Jason Bryant was the winner on the men’s side of the (snow)shoe race in 46:52. Tyler Congrove came in 4 minutes and 35 seconds later at 51:27. Jon Czarnecki was 3rd in 1:06:56.

Alison Bryant was the women’s winner, clocking 59:35.
