Snowshoeing Death in Rocky Mountains

Some unfortunate snowshoeing news occurred this weekend in Rocky Mountain National Park. Robert Mydans, an Assistant US Attorney collapsed while snowshoeing near the Green Mountain Trailhead of the park. Rescue workers were on the scene in less than 20 minutes in an attempt to revive Mydans. Their attempts were unsuccessful, however, and Mydans was pronounced dead. Mydans was known for his prosecutions of several organized crime cases across the country, including those in Oklahoma City, Kansas City, and Denver. Besides organized crime cases, Mydans also prosecuted seven prison guards for civil rights violations which occurred at the federal prison in Florence, Colorado.
